Tongliao City Hospital

Tongliao City Hospital, founded in 1950, has evolved throughout several generations into a comprehensive, non-profit, Grade 3A national hospital in Tongliao City, providing medical care, research, education, health, rehabilitation, and health check-up services. The hospital comprises seven campuses: East Campus, West Campus, Children‘s Campus, Health Examination Center, Rehabilitation Center, Anorectal Diagnosis and Treatment Center, and the Prison Hospital. The hospital covers an area of 80,000 square meters, with a building area of 91,000 square meters, 1,650 available beds, and an annual outpatient volume of over a million patients. It admits and treats more than 100,000 inpatients each year and performs over 20,000 surgical procedures. The hospital is equipped with advanced medical equipment, including the Siemens SOMATOM FORCE X-ray computed tomography (CT) scanner, ELEKTASYNERGY linear accelerator, the 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system from GE SICNA PIONEER, the UNIQ-FD20 medical vascular imaging X-ray system from Philips, and the Olympus endoscopy system, among other equipment valued at over a million yuan each. There are over 100 such devices, including 15 large medical equipment valued at over five million yuan. A new area for Tongliao City Hospital is currently under construction, with a planned land area of nearly 150,000 square meters and a building area of 261,000 square meters, accommodating 2,000 beds.


The hospital adheres to a talent-driven strategy and has a well-structured and well-defined team of medical, teaching, research, and management professionals. There are 2,302 employees, with 2,086 professionals of various levels and types. The hospital has 9 master's supervisors, 14 medical doctorate holders, 208 master's degree holders in medicine, 516 individuals with senior technical titles, and 443 individuals with intermediate technical titles. It has 5 individuals who receive special government allowances from the State Council, one "Grassland Talent" in the autonomous region, 4 labor models in the autonomous region, 4 experts with the regional party committee, 13 individuals in the "New Century 321 Talents Project" of the autonomous region, 3 Korqin Talents, 7 recipients of the May 1st Labor Medal in Tongliao City, 12 "March 8th Red Banner Bearers" in Tongliao City, 5 outstanding professional and technical talents in Tongliao City, and 4 industry-leading talents in Tongliao City, among others.


The hospital has 55 clinical departments (including 51 wards), 16 medical technology departments, and 36 other business departments, as well as 24 functional departments. Gastroenterology and Neonatology are regional key disciplines, and Anesthesiology and Nephrology, among others, are leading disciplines in Tongliao City. The hospital's Chest Pain Center has been approved as a high-standard version by the National Chest Pain Center Headquarters, the Autonomous Region Chest Pain Alliance, and the Tongliao City Health Committee, becoming a management unit of the Tongliao Regional Chest Pain Center Alliance. The hospital's Stroke Center is a national advanced stroke center and serves as a management unit on the stroke emergency response map in Tongliao City.


In recent years, the hospital has been awarded the first prize for national scientific and technological invention, a second prize for national scientific and technological innovation, four-second prizes for scientific and technological progress in the autonomous region, four third prizes for scientific and technological progress in the autonomous region, a special award for science and education in Tongliao City, six first prizes, 26 second prizes, 16 third prizes for scientific and technological progress in Tongliao City, a staff technical innovation award, a staff excellent technical achievement award, and three awards for the promotion and application of applicable technologies. The hospital has secured contracts for 10 projects at various levels, one participant in the National Natural Science Foundation, 12 projects from the Autonomous Region Natural Science Foundation (including 2 doctorate projects), 5 projects from the Autonomous Region Science and Technology Plan, 3 projects from the Autonomous Region Health and Family Planning Commission Science and Technology Plan, and 2 projects from the Tongliao City Science and Technology Plan. It has acquired 34 patents and one project for the transformation of patent achievements. In the last five years, the hospital has published 38 SCI papers, over 320 national-level papers, and more than 120 provincial-level papers. The hospital is a national-level standardized resident physician training base, offering programs in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, general practice, and dentistry. It has a skills training center and 14 teaching rooms. The hospital is affiliated with the Inner Mongolia Medical University Tongliao Clinical Medical College, carrying out undergraduate teaching tasks and providing master's degree programs. The hospital serves as a teaching hospital for Inner Mongolia Medical University, Jinzhou Medical University, Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities, and Tongliao Vocational College, among other institutions.

The hospital has been recognized as a "National Comprehensive Hospital Traditional Chinese Medicine Demonstration Unit" by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ministry of Health, and General Logistics Department. It has also been awarded the title of "Demonstration Unit for Efficient Health Services Improvement in 2018-2020" by the National Health Commission.
