Benxi Steel Group General Hospital, founded in 1916, is a national Grade 3 Grade A hospital and the Fifth Clinical College of China Medical University. Benxi General Hospital is a modern, large, and comprehensive hospital with advanced facilities, complete specialties, strong technical capabilities, and a high academic level. It integrates medical care, prevention, research, teaching, emergency care, rehabilitation, and health management. It is the first hospital in Benxi to successfully perform coronary artery bypass surgery, coronary angiography, PTCA, and kidney transplantation.

Covering an area of 42,000 square meters, Benxi Steel Group General Hospital has nearly 1,000 beds and employs over 1,500 staff members. Among the staff, there are 6 individuals with doctoral degrees, 60 master's degree holders, 19 experts appointed as mentors for master's degree students by China Medical University, 5 who receive subsidies from the State Council, and 63 individuals who receive technical talent incentives for their outstanding contributions in Benxi. The hospital includes primary clinical disciplines such as internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, otolaryngology, traditional Chinese medicine, and dermatology. It has 32 secondary clinical departments, with orthopedics being the only provincial key specialty in Benxi. Furthermore, 11 of its secondary clinical departments have been designated as training bases for master's degree students at China Medical University. The hospital also has 11 medical technology departments, including radiology, CT, MR, clinical laboratory, functional departments, and the pharmaceutical department. Additionally, the hospital has a well-established prevention system a fully functional large outpatient department, and specialized outpatient clinics. The center outpatient clinic on the first floor serves as the emergency and emergency care area, the second floor is the general clinic area, and the third floor is the expert clinic area. The Beidi outpatient clinic includes the Diabetes Treatment Center, Oral Treatment Center, and Nephropathy Treatment Center. The Pingshan outpatient clinic specializes in traditional Chinese medicine.

Benxi Steel Group General Hospital has invested heavily to introduce world-class medical equipment, including a Siemens 16-slice spiral CT scanner, a Philips superconducting MRI imaging system from the Netherlands, a Kodak CR digital radiography system from the United States, a Japanese 7170A fully automatic biochemical analyzer, and a Philips V-5000 vascular imaging machine. Currently, the hospital's equipment assets have reached RMB 85 million.
