Benxi Central Hospital (China Medical University Benxi Central Hospital) is a comprehensive Grade 3 Grade A hospital located in the Fendian District of the Liaodong region. It serves as a medical, educational, research, maternal and child health, occupational disease prevention, rehabilitation, health management, and disease prevention and control facility. The hospital is affiliated with China Medical University and serves as a teaching hospital for the university. It is also a training center for postgraduate students of Jinzhou Medical University, a standardized training base for resident doctors at the national level, and a diagnostic institution for occupational diseases in Liaoning Province. Furthermore, it is a medical and health institution for occupational health examinations in Liaoning Province, as well as the location of the Benxi City Emergency Medical Center. It is the second hospital in the province to obtain the qualification of an "Internet Hospital" at the municipal level. In the national performance assessment of Grade 3 public hospitals in 2018, the hospital ranked third among municipal central hospitals and first in the Liaodong region. In 2019, it improved its ranking by 57 places in the national performance assessment of Grade 3 public hospitals (provincial rankings have not been disclosed). In 2019, it was ranked 181st in the comprehensive ranking of more than 3,000 municipal hospitals nationwide. The hospital covers an area of 78,000 square meters and has a building area of 126,000 square meters, divided into three branches: Central, Dongxing, and Xincheng. It has 1,300 beds and houses 58 clinical departments and 14 medical technology departments. The hospital employs 1,843 staff members, including 167 with senior professional titles, 371 with associate senior professional titles, and 33.8% of healthcare professionals with senior professional titles. It has 10 Ph.D. degree holders, 167 master's degree holders, 11 master's research mentors, and 91 master's practice mentors. The hospital places a strong emphasis on research and has established the province's leading and the city's only "research laboratory." Under the guidance of high-level postdoctoral talents from Central South University, the hospital has undertaken four provincial research projects and participated in 26 clinical research projects at the national, provincial, and ministerial levels, including 22 at the national level and 4 at the provincial level. The hospital has completed various provincial research projects and research projects for municipal hospitals and has ensured the completion of research projects for medical graduates. It has achieved multiple research outcome transformations, published 14 SCI papers, and published 237 papers in core and Chinese journals. The hospital has applied for 9 patents, received 17 provincial research awards, and won 30 medical science and technology awards in the city. The hospital is well-equipped, featuring 2 Siemens DSA machines, 2 GE 3.0 Tesla MRI scanners, 6 spiral CT scanners, and 24 ultrasound devices. The hospital primarily serves the two counties and five districts in Benxi City and the eastern Liaoning Province, providing comprehensive, continuous medical care, preventive healthcare, and rehabilitation services. In addition to high-quality comprehensive medical services, it offers high-level specialized services and is responsible for diagnosing and treating critically ill and difficult patients in the city, making it a regional medical center. The hospital has been honored with more than thirty national awards, including "National Hospital Culture Construction Demonstration Unit," "National Civilization Unit," "National Advanced Collective of the Health System," and "National Demonstrative Hospital Ensuring People's Trust."
